The vehicle features an electronic power lock braking system that automatically stops the vehicle when your child's foot lifts from the pedal. A shifter with high-speed lockout for beginners provides custom control of driving speeds--low speed for normal cruising, and high speed for maximum 3-1/2-mph racing. The vehicle can also shift into reverse for convenient backing up.
The Power Wheels Lightning McQueen race car performed remarkably well in testing. The vehicle took less than 60 minutes to assemble and 18 hours to fully charge. Its solid construction and low center of gravity provided optimal handling and balance. However, for a race car, a 12-volt battery would have been more appropriate to provide sufficient power.
